Capoeira

|
Capoeira
is a Brazilian martial art developed by African slaves. Kicks, handstands,
jumps, and footwork are combined to music. The music and African dance
moves were added to disguise Capoeira when the slave owners banned its
practice.
Capoeira Malandragem was founded by Professor Dondi “Enxu,”
and is located in Tucson, Arizona. “Apelidos” are kicknames
given to participants. The "Roda" is the circle of people
within which capoeira is played. People who make up the Roda's circular
shape clap and sing along to the music being played for the two partners
engaged in a Capoeira match or rather a "Jogo" (game). On the net: http://capoeiramalandragem.com
